Some Excitement During a Snow Storm

It didn't take long today for the birds to find my new suet feeder. Due to the snow storm, feeding activity was high all day long and I had an impressive list for the feeder. Visitors included Black-capped Chickadee, White-breasted Nuthatch, Mourning Dove, Pine Siskin, American Goldfinch, Common Redpoll, Blue Jay, Downy Woodpecker, Hairy Woodpecker and fly overs by White-winged Crossbill and Snow Bunting! Here are a few photos so that you can enjoy the excitement, too.

It didn't take long for this European Starling
to find my new suet feeder.

Here's the European Starling
sampling the new suet.

This Gray Squirrel "black morph" tried every
possible maneuver but couldn't get to the feeders.

With only so many perches available there were a few heated battles.

Good birding,
Bruce
