June 26, 2009 Chimney Swifts successfully nesting in Carp!

The Chimney Swifts have returned to our chimney for at least the 4th consecutive year. Before leaving for Manitoba I checked the chimney on June 1st and there was no activity. While in the field my son Ben observed a pair over our home and on my return I checked the chimney again and there was a nest with 5 eggs. I haven't been able to check later but hopefully all is well and the eggs have hatch.

Good birding, Bruce and Ben
